BWGL History
Our history is unchanged however our home course has changed quite a lot. We started at Echo Hills way back in 1982 where we stayed for 25 very good years. Then it closed. After Echo Hills, we went to Braeburn. When they closed, we went to Clapp. With the closing of Clapp Golf Course in 2019, we found a "new home" at MacDonald Golf Course. This is our 3rd year at Mac and probably will be for the foreseeable future.
We have enjoyed our time at ALL of our "home courses" and have made many new friendships at each of them. And, as we move on, BWGL will continue to provide fun recreational golfing events and we do hope that others will want to join this 'nomadic' group of ladies. Our sites may have changed but our love of golf and all related activities persist. Each of our "course changes" only strengthens us!
League Play
We hope League play will last the whole season this year without any interference from Covid and its offsprings! Our League play consists of 9-holes on Tuesday evenings or 9-holes on Tuesday mornings (players choice). We also have an 18-hole "club" tournament at various courses in the area once a month. Additionally, we have two weekend golf trips every season. We sponsor a Club Championship Tournament every year and sometimes even a Member-Guest Tournament.
Other Organizational Activities
KCGA, KGA and KWGA have merged together to form Central Links Golf. The Home Base is located in Lenexa, Ks. This organization gives us many opportunities to meet and play golf with ladies from all over the state of Kansas and the Kansas City area. This includes Championship Tournaments, Special Events as well as many, many invitationals in Kansas and the Kansas City area.
WAWGA (Wichita Area Women's Golf Association) is very active with tournaments and other activities in Wichita and many of our ladies participate in these activities also.
